I built a live AI concierge into FTLeats. Tell it what you're in the mood for, a cuisine, a neighborhood, a budget, a vibe, and it recommends real spots and explains why. It's exactly the kind of thing I can build, trained on your own business.

The problem

You move to a new city and end up at mediocre places the algorithms pushed you to. Fort Lauderdale has a genuinely great food scene, but no local, go-to guide to find the good spots.

Why I built it

There was no good local guide, so I built one, fast. Instead of months of hand-entry, I scraped the city's restaurant data for real coverage, then used AI to organize it the way locals think about the city (17 areas) and tag every spot by vibe and occasion. It exists because I could stand up a genuinely useful guide with scraping and AI, not because I ate my way through the whole city.

What it does
  • Coverage across 17 local areas, organized how locals think about the city, not official planning lines.
  • An AI concierge you can chat with: describe the night you're planning and it recommends real spots, with a reason for each.
  • Vibe and occasion search: find a place by the night you're planning (date night, rooftop, waterfront, dive bar, solo-friendly), not just cuisine.
  • A newsletter of new spots and neighborhood guides.
Where it's going

The data foundation is automated. Next comes the human layer: my own take on the places I know, and comments from locals who eat here too.

Could this work for you?

The real value here is the pattern, not the topic, and it travels. A few ways the same idea could work for something of yours:

Any city, any topic

The same guide for your city's coffee, breweries, live music, or hikes.

Any directory people need to trust

A vendor or tool directory, a best-of guide, a members-only list for a community or association.

Package your recommendations

Help an expert or creator package their recommendations into a searchable guide and newsletter.

Want a version of this for your own idea? That's a great first conversation.
