Going keto usually means giving up your favorite recipes, or spending forever working out every substitution and macro by hand, converting flour to almond flour, sugar to a sweetener, rice to cauliflower, one ingredient at a time, every time you want to cook something you actually like. Most people either quit the diet or quit cooking the food they enjoy.
Why I built it
I wanted to keep eating the food I like on keto without doing the math myself, so I built something that does the swaps for me: paste in a recipe, or just paste a link to one, set how many servings you need, and it comes back as a keto version with the substitutions already made.
The honest way to describe the tool's accuracy is that it's a starting point, not a certified nutrition label, and I've deliberately kept the free tier generous enough that you don't have to take that on faith. Five real conversions a month, no card required, so you can run your own recipes through it and judge the substitutions yourself before ever trusting it with a dinner that matters, rather than reading a marketing claim about accuracy and hoping it holds.
Every conversion also shows its own work: flour becomes almond flour, sugar becomes erythritol, and each swap comes with an estimated net-carb count and a plain-English note on why that substitution was made, not just the result. Nothing about the conversion is a black box you're asked to trust blind.
Paying members get unlimited conversions and a personal cookbook to save the ones that worked, plus a weekly dinner generator so keto stops being a research project every night and starts being something you can just open the app and use.
I priced the free tier to actually be usable rather than a crippled trial: five real conversions, saving up to three of them, is enough to genuinely test whether this fits how you cook before you'd ever consider the nine-dollar-a-month plan. I'd rather someone leave unconvinced than feel like the free version existed only to get them to pay.
What it does
- Paste in any recipe, or a link to one, and it converts it to a keto version with ingredient substitutions in seconds.
- Set your servings and it scales the conversion to match, instead of handing you a fixed recipe you have to redo the math on yourself.
- Shows an estimated net-carb count and a plain-English reason for every substitution it makes.
- Save your conversions into a personal cookbook you can come back to.
- Weekly dinner ideas for paying members, on top of a genuinely usable free tier.
Where it's going
The conversion engine works today; what it doesn't have yet is a visible way to flag a swap that looks wrong, which matters more here than on almost any other project I've built, since a bad substitution is something someone might actually cook and eat. That feedback loop is the next real piece, not another feature on top.
Could this work for you?
The real value here is the pattern, not the topic, and it travels. A few ways the same idea could work for something of yours:
Any diet or constraint
A convert-any-recipe-to-vegan, gluten-free, or low-sodium version of the same idea.
Any convert-this-to-that tool
The same transform-what-you-have pattern for any kind of content.
A tool for a coach or brand
A recipe tool for a nutrition coach or food brand.
Want a version of this for your own idea? That's a great first conversation.
